Thanks tommy. We ended up scrambling to use the WebSDK instead as that was the only fix we could find. Please use the Web SDK. HTTPS mixed content error and a blank page. Any access method okay. How to generate “join” URL given ID and password? – API and Webhooks – Zoom Developer Forum.

I have found nothing helpful by Web searching. When you create a meeting, and configure it to require a password on by default for Free, K, and Pro-single-user accountsthen it is returned in how do i make my zoom link a hyperlink – none: Zoom Web Portal or Zoom Client. I think you may be misunderstanding my question. I am not creating a meeting, because obviously you can how do i make my zoom link a hyperlink – none: a URL-plus-password when you create a meeting.

Unless I am still misunderstanding exactly what you are requesting and if so, accept my apologies. That is too bad. So my understanding is that when a meeting is created, one can obtain a meeting link that contains an encoded password, but that one cannot create such an encoded password oneself or, for that matter, decode the password from the encoded version in the URL.

I think this is a stupid limitation, since there is no security reason for failing to provide such a functionality. There are so many limitations in Zoom and especially in its Meeting interface, it is a wonder that it has been recently adopted so widely.

Last night I was in a church Zoom meeting and saw intelligent but new hosts struggling to manage breakout rooms and failing to be able to show a PDF file to everyone.

Technically, your use of bandwidth is excellent, and better than many of your competitors. You should leverage this ability, and transform your Meeting interface into something that people really want. You should stay ahead of your competitors, or else another company will do all this first and steal your entire market, as has happened to others.

This endpoint appears to retrieve meeting information only for those who are authorized as creators of the meeting. The documentation is confusing. How are you getting the meeting passwords and not the encoded password in the join url? Another part of the use case is that the Zoom dialog box for entering a meeting remembers the last few meeting IDs but, strangely, not their passwords. So, when a meeting has a password, you have to enter the password manually. For now, we would prefer the techniques we use to encode these passwords stay internal.

Very sorry for any inconvenience this might cause. I hear you. Initially I thought the password from the URL might be a simple hash value, but it seems to have been salted somehow.

I encountered this issue when preparing appointments for my children as they have just received meeting ID and password, but no link. It how to join zoom using meeting id make life easier for them if I just gave them the corresponding URL. The only way I have found is to join the meeting and copy the invite link. On Android app you even have an option in settings to automatically copy the invite link when you join a meeting. If the host has allowed others to start the meeting before them you could get the URL ahead of time by joining in anytime.

When you copy and paste a link, it’s important to copy and paste the actual link along with the text. But if I remember to include the link:. Was this reply helpful? Yes No. Sorry this didn’t help. Hi, I also encountered same experience on Zoom Desktop. Not sure if it is because of Zoom increased security or? Hope to find a solution, as it can cause quite abit of inconvenience, since Zoom Chat doesnt allow for copy and paste too.

I also cant find much other info on the web I bumped into the same issue today. I was a co-host and provided a link in the Zoom chat. The link ended up only being regular text, not hot. So individuals had to copy and paste the text to go to the link. After the meeting I continued to play with the link in the meeting chat box to see if I can get it to work. When I copy and paste a link to Zoom chat, it is not active. A similar thing occurs when I copy and paste a link in email. This started happening I think after an automatic computer update. Before that, I was able to insert a live link. When I attempt the same thing on my home computer, the links work just fine. When I have my work computer at home, it still does not allow a live link. Any help would be appreciated. I know it seems a small thing, but my young-ish students on all sorts of different devices at home don’t all know how to cut and paste and Zoom is tricky for them.

A live link just simplifies things. This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question Report abuse. In reply to A. User’s post on April 13, Thanks for your help. I am clicking the actual link, or getting a sharable link from google drive. And I’m doing no different that what I’ve always done that worked in the past. Thanks very much for your help. So it seems to be working again in email through nothing I’ve done. Still not working in Zoom, and there doesn’t seem to be much of a toolbar in the chat. I tried pasting the link into a google doc, making a hyperlink, and then putting it in the chat, but it still loses the hotlink.

It might be intentional. Did they ever work correctly? What changed? I hope this helps. Feel free to ask back any questions and keep me posted. I’ve also searched for other people having the problem with Zoom and found nothing, and went through all the Zoom settings I could, even though that didn’t seem to be the issue because I log on with the same account on different computers. And the previous week it worked fine from my school computer.

I’ll try the system restore that you suggest – that seems to be where the problem originated. Keep me posted on your progress as I will be here to help until the case is resolved. In reply to KathyHayevsky’s post on April 13, I have had the exact same problem.

One week in a meeting I shared a link and it was live, the next week not live. I use a mac. So after reading through your thread I am inclined to think its something zoom changed. I would love to know if you find a fix as I too cant find much info. In reply to SKB’s post on May 2, Thank you. CCRyan 2. This site in other languages x.
