Looks like clearing the cache resolves this issue. Since the history of the zoom meeting still shows up with the correct number, but with the name of the meeting changed to just ‘zoom meeting’ , it makes me think there is some problem with a cache issue on the windows version. Also, the Zoom has not provided any official information or solution on their official website. You could always save your meeting as a meeting template and recreate a new meeting to see if that resolves your issue as well. Try pasting the passcode into Notepad a TXT document and looking carefully at it there. Search for: Search. Browse Backgrounds.

For example, if you type in the wrong email address as the user name, your correct password will not be the correct password for some other or non-existent account.
If your typing is accurate and your user name is correct, the most likely scenario is that your account has been hacked. Someone guessed or otherwise got your password and then changed it. Set up a recovery code from Microsoft and with this code, you will be able to recover a hacked account or get into it if it has been locked for another reason.
People badmouth Microsoft email accounts but this recovery code feature probably makes it the most bulletproof of all the freemail providers. Microsoft, Google Facebook, etc are all doing the same thing.
E bay is the worst with all their analytics, and algorithms. I will say that Microsoft is the easiest to deal with, of course they wrote the program. I had hundreds of giif these companies do not like thgabites of my family photos taken, never to return.
They even delete programs I pay for. I paid for spybot and received 4 separate apps, which were very thorough. A week later all I have is the Microsoft shell that does nothing. If you register your own domain, you can keep the email address associated with that domain. There are many. If there is a space after your password or email address, Microsoft registers it as incorrect.
Not helpful. See my first comment. Microsoft allows you to download a recovery key. If your account is hacked or you are blocked from logging in, that recovery key will get you in.
If you are locked out of your account due to a forgotten password and no recovery phone email or even when traveling to a different country, the recovery code will get you in. Poor article saying the user is wrong when I am correct. I had the account for a long period of time with the same password. Changed the password recently. The app is telling me the password is incorrect. I tried installing through another account and still tells me its wrong. I try to set up a new account just for the app and still tells me the account password is incorrect.
Not everything in this article applies in every case, but you should include everything that applies to your issue. I changed the password on my phone recently because of strange things happening. I write my password before I enter it. Little by little it kept getting worse. Now it never accepts my password and I refuse to keep playing that childish game. Does this sound familiar? Another thing to consider is that whatever you are trying to sign into has changed something on their end and you need to re-create your account.
I had this happen the other day. The other day when I attempted to access it I was hit either disabling my ad blocker or signing in. Since I knew I had an account, I tried to sign in. I was asked for my e-mail address so they could send me the reset link. I waited over an hour; no e-mail so I decided to recreate my account using my same e-mail address. It work. This is a rare cause but just happened to me.
I was told by their customer support that I needed to reregister my account again with the new website. After that everything was okay. It would have been helpful if the company had notified their customers of the change. I am using an HP Chromebook.
I know my password is correct. Make absolutely certain that the email address specified for logging in to your Chromebook is exactly correct. Also make sure the device is connected to Wi-Fi. If not, and there was a password change, you might need to use the previous password to sign in, then correct the Wi-Fi setup to work. Plus I have 4 other Apple Devices all using the same email setup and those have not been throwing up incorrect password screens — I just get the email.
This article is not correct. Google loves to tell you that your password is wrong, when it is in fact correct. Google is a massive pain with the password. That sounds like a conspiracy theory. Gmail has a billion and a half users. Google has no desire to harm their reputation by deliberately locking people out of their accounts.
I agree with Steve R. The exact same thing happened to me yesterday as well. Please help! The best way to manage passwords is to use a password manager like LastPass, Dashlane, or Keypass. What this article does not take into consideration is that sites sometimes WANT you to change your password periodically.
So they make it look as if you are entering the incorrect password because, essentially, they think it is out of date. It has happened to me on many occasions. I really wish they would just be up front, like some are, and tell you that instead of making it look as if the error is yours. Comments violating those rules will be removed. I continue having a strange problem where zoom tells me the password is wrong when trying to join a meeting. The password is just 1 character long not very secure, I know, but not my choice, and it’s a meeting open to the general public in my area anyways , so I’m not typing it in wrong.
Additionally, if I open the meeting in the web browser same computer, keyboard, etc I can join, but only in the browswer, If I click to open the Zoom Client it doesn’t work. Using the same account on my phone works too. Interestingly, in the meeting history drop down, the meeting will initially show up as usual ie with the name “Weekly Information Meeting”. Then after choosing it, inputting the correct password, and being told the password is wrong, the name changes on the history drop down to the generic “Zoom Meeting”.
This seems to be related to the Client itself. Interestingly, it happens most often after I update Zoom. Also, after a time, maybe an hour, often I can connect successfully with all the same credentials. Hey Jason , strange! I was able to create a test meeting with a 1 character password and join.. You could always save your meeting as a meeting template and recreate a new meeting to see if that resolves your issue as well.
The only reason I mentioned the password being 1 character was to show that it is not just a problem with entering the password incorrectly. It should be noted this problem has happened with longer passwords as well. It’s not restricted to just one host, leading me to believe that it’s not a problem with the host’s settings.
In addition, using my wife’s computer also windows 10, same zoom version as me, both of the up to date I’m able to get into the meeting just fine. I have not had this problem when clicking on a direct link in email, etc , maybe because then there is no need to enter the password.
However, in most of the zoom meetings I attend, the host cannot send an invite, there are too many people and it’s a meeting open to the public. That is out of my hands. I must enter the zoom ID and password.
Since the history of the zoom meeting still shows up with the correct number, but with the name of the meeting changed to just ‘zoom meeting’ , it makes me think there is some problem with a cache issue on the windows version. On my phone I can clear the cache easily, but there seems to be no way to do so on windows. I can clear the history which does not fix the problem as stated above.
Finally, very very strangely, I can usually attend after a short time, maybe 30 minutes to an hour later. If I just keep trying to join, eventually it will let me. We are having the same problem and it does look like a client problem. I can not log in using the password from another organization but if i go to a browser it allows me to log in but then lose my “profile settings, backgrounds etc” Updating the client and other troubleshooting does not resolve.
Any thoughts from Zoom? Looks like clearing the cache resolves this issue. I had to enable zoom apps and then go to clear cache to access and clear. Then restart and now works. I had this similar issue today which is how I found your comment because I was invited to join a meeting and I had the correct ID and password and was logging in through my PC and it kept saying the password was incorrect but when I logged in through my tablet it allowed me to log in to the meeting.
To resolve the issue you may want to have the host send you a direct invite. Zoom Community. Whenever I use my phone for a zoom meeting, I set my phone on a tripod in landscape/horizontal position. However, whenever the meeting begins, my picture is always shown vertical/portrait in the meeting room with my head and waist being horizontally lined up. To fix this, I have to always turn my phone to portrait and return it back to landscape. May 17, · Solution 1: Change the connection.
